Pheromones are the chemicals that attract men and women to each other. Excreted through the skin, sweat glands, saliva and urine; these are the biological reasons for how and why we choose a potential mate. Disgusting right, its not like we go around smelling other people to see if they are our soul mates. However, these pheromones are what elicit sexual desires, hormone levels and sexual readiness.
Obviously nobody consciously smells them when meeting someone. Pheromones work subconsciously to choose a genetically compatible mate. People who are genetically incompatible are actually turned off by each others smell. For example, you tend to avoid people who smell like your siblings; the reason is not because you don't like how your siblings smell but because by avoiding similarities in gene compatibility you avoid probability of incest and genetic mutations.
Pheromones are also used in the perfume industry as the "seductive" ingredient
This topic is extremely interesting. It is also very interesting how as women when you spend too much time with each other you seem to start your menstrual cycle at about the same time. It's great to know that pheromones are working without us even knowing; however, it is a bit weird that avoiding sibling smell compatibility does not apply to women on birth control.
ReplyDeleteI am going to wear a pheromone perfume and collect data on how different it is when I am not wearing it. I've had friends say they get more attention, but at the same time I feel it can all be mental, we'll see how it goes. But pheromones are really interesting. I wonder if ithe pheromone perfume will work with women with birth control
ReplyDeleteA very interesting topic, do you know that beside the use of pheromones by the perfume industry, some people use pheromones from female dears to attract males to hunting them down. Some people use it because they can hold their ground in a specific spot and wait for the deer to come into the range of their particular rifle. Also the male can smell the pheromones from a great distance.
